Hi Jac,
I get the updates not only from reading your Blog your mom sends out but from your Dad. As always , we are ALWAYS keeping you in our thoughts and prayers as well as lighting candles for you at after Sunday mass. Your cousin Jeffrey is so sweet and innocent, he will go to our Statue of Mother Mary after placing an offering of his own money where the candles are, light the candle, and kneel before our Lady and pray for you. So I know you have MANY prayers out there and we Love You.
Thanks for the prayers! EBV is undetectable today! Ur prayers r awesome! :~)
Sending prayers that the EBV goes away and the other crappy stuff stays away. Jackie, you're one tough teenager! You go girl!
{{{{BIG HUGS}}}}
We will keep praying for Jaclyn’s EBV to go away and all of that bad stuff to stay away! Very sad what she has been through the past several years. She is a strong girl! Hugs and God bless all of you and the may angels watch over you now and always.
J & S
Any news yet? I hope that the lab results were errors and that the EBV is 0. I have had lab errors previously and they can be very scary. Praying for great lab results this week.
God Bless you both,
Lori
Thinking of you and sending prayers your way.
Praying that Jaclyn's lab results are better this week and that she continues to get stronger and healthier each day.
God bless,

I am praying for Jac! I have faith that her numbers will go down more! I love you! call me this weekend!

YAY! OUT OF THE HOSPITAL! CROSSING MY FINGERS AND TOES AND EYES AND EVERYTHING ELSE THAT THE MEDICATIONS DID THE TRICK AND THE BAD BUGS ARE GONE FOREVER.
LIVE STRONG!

Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. (Isaiah 40:28-31)
All is well.

IT IS SOOOOOOOOOO SAD WHEN THESE KIDS HAVE TO SUFFER SO MUCH. IT IS BEYOND UNFAIR.
I HOPE THAT YOU AND JACLYN ARE DOING WELL. PLEASE CALL.
LOVE, HUGS AND PRAYERS ALWAYS
MCKENZIE
My heart goes out to our brave angels, Ayanna, Gabriel and their families. It is so hard to see children suffer and it breaks my heart when their lives are cut short. So cruel, so unfair. Prayers for all of our little angels.
Love, hugs and lots of prayers for continued health improvements and much happiness for Jaclyn,
Deb
I am so happy to learn that Jaclyn is in school full-time. She deserves all the happiness in the world and hopefully this is a small step to having the happiness and experiences every young girl deserves. Susan - you are such an incredible mom. I admire you and am proud of you.
Jaclyn
Jaclyn, You are an inspiration to us all. You are so courageous. You have really taught me patience and perservance. YOU ROCK!

Great news about Jaclyn's biopsy. I am so glad that the PTLD is staying away. I hope that she gets a well deserved break from being poked....Are there any organs left that haven't been poked? I love you guys and hope and pray that Jaclyn stays healthy forever. She has had more than her share of health issues. I agree that it is time to give Jaclyn a BREAK!
Prayers and positive energy flowing your way....
Stacy

Such good news! So happy for you and Jaclyn! Continued prayers for Jaclyn staying healthy, in school and out of the hospital.
Janice
YEAH!!!! What wonderful news! Keep the good news coming.
Always sending prayers your way.
I am hoping that no news is good news. I can only imagine how hard it is. Hang in there....hopefully, it will all get figured out. I am glad that Jaclyn is feeling well and staying out of the hospital.
The both of you are never far from my heart. Continued prayers.
My heart aches for you and like others I wish I could take some of your pain and frustration away. We are all part of God's plan but at times like this, it's hard not to question. I pray for you, Jaclyn and the rest of your family. Hang in there. Jaclyn is an incredibly strong girl. Lots of hugs and prayers.
Deb
Thanks, Deb. Jaclyn is very strong. :~)
Hi, I don't know you, but I have been reading about your journey and think that you are an amazing young lady.
God, I pray that you heal beautiful Jaclyn Perea from all illness. According to Matt 18:18 and according to the Power granted me by my precious Jesus, I bind up the spirit of infirmity over Jaclyn and loose a Spirit of Life over her. Thank you Lord for healing Jaclyn completely. Strengthen and bless her family. Let each of them experience a Divine Miracle of Healing today. In Jesus Name I pray.
Bless you.
Amy
Thank you for the prayers.
WOW! You sure are keeping those doctors on their toes! (all of us too) I'm so glad that you are feeling good and are able to keep up with your school work. I am storming the heavens with prayers for you ,that the doctors can figure out what the new plan will be soon and get the ball rolling to get you back home and for strength for your mom/dad & family.
Susan - I sent you and Jaclyn a little something in the mail but ended up mailing it to your house in CO since that's the address I had.
2010 is your year to be a healthy, happy teen! God Bless.
Thanks, Kelly :~) Hope that you and Mira are healthy forever. You're an angel.
My son needs a kidney transplant and I was considering Lucille Packard Hospital. I have been reading Jaclyn's journal for the past couple of months and cried over the pain, agony and nightmares that Jaclyn has endured. I hope that she get healthy soon and her kidney lasts her 100-plus years. I have decided to look into UCSF or UCLA. Thank you for all of the insight that you have provided.
Amanda
BACK OFF T CELLS! IT'S TIME TO GIVE THE KIDNEY AND JACLYN A BREAK!
JW
Thanks Jeff!
Woke up and prayed for you this morning....praying that all of those infusions finally get that new kidney in shape and that all of the anti-rejection medications attack the bad stuff and let you keep the good stuff. I know that the anti-rejection meds can be tough, but hang in there kiddo. There is a light (and a skateboard) at the end of this dark tunnel.
Susan and Jaclyn -
Thinking of you both and sending good energy your way. Hoping that Jaclyn's infusions were super successful.
Prayers and hugs,
Sara
Throughout the New Testament we hear of Jesus. He was asked, He heard and He healed. Never once do we read of Jesus refusing to heal. Place Jaclyn in the care of Your Angels, Lord, and have them guide her along the path towards good health.
Hoping that Jaclyn's infusions are going well this week and healing her kidney. She is one tough gal. Continued love, thoughts & prayers from us...
I have read Jaclyn's journal and I am so sorry that your daughter and your family have had to live through this experience.
Seems like some people get a transplant and have all the luck in the world and then others have misfortune after misfortune. All a person can do is go by the information you have at the time when a decision is made. No one person can foresee every complications that may possibly happen.
Praying that things start getting better for Jaclyn very soon.
You have been thru HELL. My son had a liver transplant and also got PTLD from Prograf immunosuppression. He is doing very well, but it was a hell of a year. He only takes 1 mg of prograf am and pm and is 3 years post liver transplant and 2 year 4 months PTLD free. You will get there. Life will be good. In my prayers and in my heart. Take care. Mike.
It's great news that the Thymoglobulin was Vetoed for now! Wishing you the best of luck and great results on the next biopsy!
BIG BUMMER that you have to have another week of infusions. Hang in there, Jackie, it will get better.
Prayers and hugs
Lisa
"I will restore you to health and I will heal you of your wounds," declares the LORD.

Hang in there, Jackie, 2010 will be your year!
Michael Jordan once said, "Obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it."
I know that you will amaze us all by finding a cure for kidney disease and become the skateboarding champion of the world.
I know that you will get that kidney in shape and accomplish great things!
Jeff
What an unbelievable journey Jaclyn is on. She has been so incredibly brave. Please know people everywhere are praying for Jaclyn. May her kidney get the boost it needs next week and may she be able to return to Colorado healthy and happy very soon.

It is pivotal to alter your physician about any allergies you may have and also your medical history, before getting your Lipitor prescription. The drug Lipitor also has a bioequivalent generic which is identical to the brand in strength as well as safety and is sold at a slightly lower cost.
Bummer that you won't be back in Colorado for Christmas. I hope you make it back for the New Year! You handle these bumps in the road better than anyone I know. Happy Holidays and a healthy 2010!
Brianna
There are angels all around Jaclyn and your family. I am sending lots of love and prayers that Jaclyn's new kidney learns to adjust to Colorado and keeps her healthy for a very long time.

Maybe you can get Jaclyn a hand warmer and put it on her kidney until the weather warms up here :o) It is BRRRRR....very cold. I understand why the kidney wants to stay in CA! Hope to have you both back very soon. Miss you.

Not sure it's the right place to share this but I got a cool link that offers a free live signature for people, Ijust tried it on and it rocks! It's called my live signature. Just wanted to share my excitement.
I'm such a suck up. I just made my boss a new personal signature (used mylivesignature) and installed it on his email. I hope it helps me get that new position that opened up ;-D LOL.

Continuing to keep you all in my thoughts!
Thinking of you today. Have a wonderful day! :)
Just checking in on Jaclyn. We continue to pray for her every day!
Hi Susan, After talking to you today, I hear your frustrations loud and clear. You know that we have had to call 6 ot 7 Care Conferences. Call as many as you need to get Jaclyn 100% healthy and back home.
At the end of every minute, every hour, every day remember that YOU are her mom and YOU deserve to be informed and included in discussing Jaclyn's test results and future treatment plans. We've been
through this many times and are willing to go through it with you if you need our assistance. Anything to get Jaclyn 100% healthy, happy and home.
My thoughts & prayers continue to be with you, your family and the entire medical staff at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital. Your story of your strength, courage and faith has touched many lives. God Bless!

I am so sorry to hear that Jac is back in the hospital, but glad that she is out of ICU. Life is a rollercoaster and at times like this I know that you feel like "the whole world" is against you having a normal life. Wish I had something more tangible than hopes and prayers to offer you. Lots of love and hopes for a speedy recovery and many years of perfect health and happiness.
Sending prayers for a quick and full recovery. You are an amazing and strong young lady. May you be back in Colorado soon!

Jaclyn is home, but fighting a virus :~( Congrats on 5 months! You are an earth angel!
It is poetic in the sense that the little picture, like a poem, is an affirmation and delectation which does not traverse a boundary or space alluded to in the composition, but, rather, speaks on the threshold. ,
Casey and Colby on the way to school said they think having Aunt Susan and Jac staying with us is just too cool. Jac is a great replacement for their big brother Shane while he's at school. We are so grateful the hot weather broke right when they arrived. :~)
Miss you very much! I hope to get back very soon. Love you all.
YAY YAY YAY YOUR COMING HOME!!!!! I cant wait to see you!!! I miss you and I love you ! LETS GO TO ROCKIES GAMES :) :)

I thought the same thing. Gillians creatinine has been running at .4 for the last 7 months and on our last set of labs it jumped to .9 but we pushed lots and lots of water through Gillian and got her labs down to .6 and are rechecking on Thurday hoping for that .4 again! I just wanted to let you know we are thinking of you and we know how you feel! Things will get better! Good luck Jaclyn we are thinking of you!
Bummer. Sorry to hear about your labs. I know that they will be better tomorrow. I am sending lots of positive karma and my fingers, legs, arms, toes, eyes and everything else are crossed for good luck.

Hi Jaclyn, I was happy to see you smiling on Sunday for the bowl-a-thon. Your uncle Rafael and I love you much and just want you to know, that you are in our daily prayers. To continue being positive is our prayer for you. See you soon.
Dear Jaclyn and those that support and love her...I want to encourage Jaclyn that her miracle of a kidney transplant is coming. I also experienced kidney disease as a young person. My one functioning yet damaged kidney lasted until I turned 45 years old. I was on hemo-dialysis for more than 4 years waiting for a kidney from the UNOS list. Then, one of my former classmates, Debby, heard about my health situation at our high school reunion and decided to be tested for me. We were a match and I received my new kidney on Dec. 30th. One of the most awesome blessings a person can give to another...the gift of life! Debby and I are both doing great. I so look forward to the day when we can have a celebration for Jaclyn's new life after her transplant. Hang in there Jaclyn! Good things are coming your way.
Just wanted to give words of encouragement that the "call" will come soon and probably when you least expect it. Praying for a good kidney and sucessful transplant!

Stay encouraged, medicine has come so far, and as one of the previous posters mentioned, you really have a lot of support from your community. Don't forget people who don't even know you have you in their thoughts and prayers. Warm Wishes:) MMiller, AL
Thank you for your kind message and words of encouragement as Bryce is close to 6 months post transplant - I try to help those I can with our experience. Just know going into it that it is not a cure, things (Bumps) more then likely will happen during and after but it is worth it - we pray for your new kidney soon, no complicatations, improved health, and NO MORE DIALYSIS!
I'm so happy they found the problem! I hope the vitamin D starts to make you feel better soon! Even better would be a kidney!!! Just wanted to stop by and tell you we are still praying for a new kidney!

Hi Jaclyn! You don't know me, but i've gotten to know you from your Mom on a forum called ihatedialysis.com. I am a fellow dialysis patient. You are an amazing young person to be going through all of this, and after checking out this site, I can tell you have an amazing support system. I just wanted to give you a virtual hug since I can't in person. I just want you to know you are not alone. I know dialysis isn't fun and it sucks, but I look at it as giving me a chance to live my life. I'm a little older than you, but I was once your age and dealing with illness. My kidneys weren't failing when I was your age, but I was (and still am unfortunately!) diabetic. So I understand how you must be feeling. I gave your Mom my e-mail and phone number if you ever want somebody to talk to or rant at who understands.
Thanks for the hug. U R so right, dialysis sucks. :~(
*~* May you have a beautiful week full of happiness *~*
& May you get that very important kidney call ~*~*
Hugs, Prayers and Positive Vibes!!!

Jaclyn,
I don't know you or your parents directly but I am a neighbor in Littleton and a CU Boulder alum (that's how I heard about this). I'll see if I can't help Jim out with promoting your cause. Hang in there. We'll get it done.
Brady
Thanks for helping Jim promote my cause. :~)
HI JACLYN,
I USED TO WORK WITH YOUR MOM. I MET YOU SEVERAL TIMES WHEN YOUR MOM WOULD BRING YOU INTO WORK AND YOU WOULD SLEEP IN THE BACK OF HER OFFICE. I WOULD GIVE YOU MY KIDNEY, BUT I AM BLOOD TYPE A :-(. I AM SORRY THAT YOU HAVE TO GO THROUGH THIS. I THINK THAT ANYONE WHO KNOWS YOU AND KNOWS HOW LOVING AND CARING YOU ARE, WOULD LOVE TO GIVE THEIR KIDNEY TO YOU. MUCH INFORMATION ABOUT BEING A LIVING DONOR IS AVAILABLE AT www.livingdonorsonline.org. BE STRONG AND STAY POSITIVE.
JEFF
I am praying that your dialysis runs smoothly today and that you feel wonderful for the weekend. Lots of people are thinking and praying for you. Be Strong, your kidney will come soon.
Hugs,
Nicole
Jaclyn - You are the most courage person I know. Keep your eyes on the final goal...Kidney, kidney, kidney...kidney party!

Our prayers are with you. I know what you and your family are going through because my nephew also needs a kidney transplant. I hope you get your kidney very soon.

Hi Jaclyn - I am a friend of Josh and Ashley. I look forward to seeing you at the silent auction on March 28. I am pressed for time right now because my wife is about to arrive home from a week long business trip and I am trying to tidy up the house a little before she gets here. When I have a little more time, I will send you a picture of what I am donating to the auction. Ashley tells me that you enjoy working with wood. I enjoy it too, but I think I enjoy coming up with ideas of things to make more than actually making them. I like the challenge of coming up with things most people would not think to make. Sometimes they are a little goofy, but they are always original. I will be in touch with you soon.
Best Regards,
Dale See
Jaclyn,
Just wanted to let you know I'm still thinking about you! I hope you get your dialysis problems solved without another surgery. Keep positive your kidney will come and you will feel so much better.....

COTAFORGILLIANI.COM
Hey sweet stuff!
Your mom tells me that you are having a hard time thinking of a wish for your one wish from the "Make a Wish Foundation".....so I am here to provide some suggestions:
(1) Las Vegas weekend at the Luxor, front row seats and backstage passes to see Criss Angel for you and your family +1 (yes, I'd be happy to join you)
(2) San Diego Concert, any band you want to see (no MM - ick!). I hear that your Aunt has a wonderful yaght there. We could visit!
(3) Major shopping spree!
You need to take advantage of this wish while it is being offered. You will be getting a new kidney soon and their offer may disappear. I sincerely hope that this was helpful.
I am glad that your trip to Stanford was successful. You are very loved.
- Deb

Hi, My name is Dava, I'm a dialysis patient who is waiting for a kidney too. I just wanted to give you encouragement in your dialysis treatments. I know what it's like. I've been doing dialysis my whole life so I've seen just about everything. If you have any questions just type it in my guestbook. That's DavaW. I wish you the best of luck in getting yoour kidney. God will take care of it and you will get one in His timing. Good luck. :D
I hope your dialysis lines didn't stay clogged and your last session went well. I will pray you get your kidney for christmas! Maybe the day after anyway. That way you will be home and enjoy christmas with your entire family! Your a beautiful and brave young lady who deserves a kidney soon!
Hi Jaclyn,
I will pray that you get your Christmas wish. You don't know me, but I went to High School with your Grandmother Mary Perea (Dodo). We were on the same swim team and I would go to her house often so I even knew both your great-grand parents. Although we don't get to see each other very often since I live in Reno, Mary will always be one of my best friends.
God Bless you and keep smiling that beautiful smile you have.
I have a daughter who is 3 that is waiting for a type B kidney also. We have been listed for 11 months now. Our insurance will not pay for a living donor so we have no choice but to wait. I just found out in October that when you are on the waiting list UNOS will only give you a B type not an O so that is why are wait is even longer! I will pray that Jaclyn finds a donor soon. From a mom who know how hard it is to find a B kidney.

Hey Jaclyn,
Im a good friend of Val's and she talks about you all the time and she is so proud of you!! You are a very strong and determined girl and I know everything will be fine for you!!
-Colin
Hey Jac ,
even though I love you I'm still kinda upset you let Val hear our little concert we had on the way back from the nuggets game. That is kind of embarrassing. I thought we were tighter than that miss jaclyn. I cant stay mad at you though so your forgiven. Call me soon, I want to see you skate and we still have to go bowling.
Hang in there girl, I know your a tough cookie so Im not too worried about you. You know Im here if you need anything (talk, rides to dialysis, skate park etc.) so do not be afraid to call me. Love you Jac.
Casey
Jac,
I forgot, give that puppy a big hug from me;-)
Hi Jac,
I am so excited that we have a PR Coordinator! Val's poster on the door at her sorority was how he found us;-) Another CU connection, Jim Malmberg has already put together our first press release.
You are such a bright and shining light, we love you,
Lauren

Hey Jaclyn,
My name's Greg, I've been friends with Val for years now, it's sad I haven't had the chance to meet you yet! Anyways, I wanted to let you know I'm pullin for ya and that you're in my thoughts and prayers. I understand you're involved with Children's Hospital. My little sister was hit by a car and was at Children's for months. They are the best, most caring people I have ever come in contact with. You're in good hands with them. I didn't have the chance to help my sister the way Val is helping you, and because of that Val is one of my heroes now. You have some wonderful people looking out for you.
Stay strong and positive and good things will happen.
Greg - Boulder, CO
